Change the meaning, change what the experience does to you.

Experiences don't arrive with their meanings attached. REFRAME is the deliberate discipline of replacing inaccurate, limiting meanings with truer and more useful ones.

Why this book exists

The meaning we assign to an experience shapes what it then does in our lives — and most of us are running on meanings we assigned in a moment of pain and never revisited. A limiting story, left unexamined, keeps writing your future.

The big idea

We can, through a deliberate practice, change the meaning we have assigned — often to something more accurate and more useful. This is not toxic positivity or the denial that bad things were bad; it is the honest replacement of inaccurate, limiting meanings with truer ones.

The practice, taught in full

Each part of the discipline is taught completely, in its own right, so you can install it — not just understand it.

1

Name

Name the experience and the meaning you've attached to it.

2

Separate

Separate what actually happened from the story you built around it.

3

Question

Question whether that meaning is accurate or merely habitual.

4

Reframe

Replace it with a truer, more useful meaning.

5

Carry It Forward

Carry the new meaning into how you live from here.

Run a five-step process on any limiting experience from your past
Tell the difference between honest reframing and toxic positivity
Stop letting old, inaccurate meanings write your present
Build the skill that underwrites resilience, leadership and growth
The installation

A 66-Day Challenge to install it

You don't just understand the practice — you install it, across the 66 days research says a habit of substance actually takes, in three honest phases.

Days 1–10

1. The Honeymoon

Novelty carries the practice. Enjoy the easy start — then watch for the fade.

Days 11–40

2. The Grind

The hard, long middle where most quit. The hardness is the habit forming. Keep going.

Days 41–66

3. The Lock-In

Effort drops, the practice becomes automatic — a default rather than a decision.

Who this book is for

Anyone carrying a past experience whose meaning is quietly limiting their present.

Built around real client stories. Each book opens with a real client whose story carries the case, and closes with that same client's story across months and years. Real people, real situations, real change — the human spine that gives the practice its weight.
